The Word of God Became a Person: Jesus 101! (pt. 3)

“And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.” John 1:14

There is a song, written by John P. Kee that says "Jesus is real, I know the Lord is real to me." Some words down, the words in the song says "Jesus is a Friend, that I've found."

Yes, He is real, Yes, He is a Friend that I've found. I feel Him every day. He walks with me and He talks with me.

What does Jesus mean to you? Is He real to you?

While on earth Jesus interacted with, he talked with, He cried with those that He came in contact with. As we continue our travel through the Gospel of John I pray that you can see the Truth of His realness, that you can feel His touch.

Let's put on our glasses of faith as we continue our journey.

When we put on our faith glasses we can see clearly that the Truth is the Person of Jesus. The person of Jesus in the flesh that talked with:

The Woman Caught in Adultery John 8:2-11- After spending the night on the Mount of Olives, Jesus shows up in the temple courts. All the people gather around Him. He sits down to teach them the word of God.

While Jesus is teaching, the Pharisees bring in a woman. They made her stand in front of the whole group. And they said, "Teacher, we interrupt this teaching moment to bring you this important announcement. This woman is a sinner! She was caught in the act of committing adultery! Moses commanded us to stone such women! Now what do you say?" The Pharisees motive was to test Jesus – But Jesus answer was “He who is without sin among you, let him be the first to throw a stone at her.” Romans 3:23 says “All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.

Only Jesus is able to throw the stone. He did throw the stone, He threw the stone on Himself. He took the penalty that she deserved, the penalty that we deserved – THE VERDICT that belonged to her and belongs to you and me.  I invite you to confess your sin and claim Jesus’ blood.  You see, while she was set free, her accusers rejected the Living Stone. As Jesus kneel down and wrote on the ground, I can imagine that as each looked down at the words pertaining to them their conscience were convicted. They walked away one by one.

Hear Jesus as He says to each of us “I don’t condemn you; go and sin no more!" Put on your faith glasses. Believe Jesus, for “If the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed.” (John 8:36). Remember “Therefore there is no condemnation for those who is in Christ Jesus.”

Remember, forgiveness does not condone sin, but lead to positive life changes.

Leave your burdens at the foot of the cross; believe that you are forgiving, and go live your life to glorify God.

"God did not send His Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him". (John 3:17)

When we put on our faith glasses we can see clearly that the Truth is the Person of Jesus. The person of Jesus in the flesh that talked with:

The Man Born Blind Receives Sight – John 9 - In this chapter, John tells us about two different groups of people. The first group is represented by a man who was physically blind. He knew that he was blind. He longed for someone to work a miracle in his life and take away his blindness. The other group is represented by the Pharisees – the religious leaders in Jesus’ day. They were blind spiritually but were unaware of their blindness. They had no desire for Jesus to do anything in their lives. They did not need a miracle, at least that’s what they thought.

They should have had on their glasses of faith then they would have seen Jesus as THE LIGHT. John 9:39 – “For judgment I came into this world, so that those who do not see may see, and that those who see may become blind.” What a strange saying! Those that see with literal eyes may be blind to the truth about Jesus. John’s Gospel is written on two levels the one that meets the eye, and the other involving spiritual realities that can only be had by believing in Jesus. In other words, the very presence of light exposes the darkness of unbelief.

"God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him. He who believes in Him is not judged; he who do not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God." John 3:17,18)  This is the judgment, that THE LIGHT has come into the world, and men love the darkness rather than theTHE LIGHT.

I have seen THE LIGHT, and I am following it with all my being. His amazing grace that’s my story, the only one I have – and I am sticking to it.

Amazing grace! How sweet the sound, That saved a wretch like me! I once was lost, but now am found, Was blind, but now I see! - John Newton

How do I know that Jesus is real? He walks with me. He talks with me. He comforts me when I am down - Yes, Jesus is real. Since my encounter with Him nothing has been the same.

Through the life of Jesus, we can see exactly what God meant by loving, forgiving, serving, worshiping, praying, and all life's day to day to-dos that we face as we travel the Christian journey, because Jesus has been there.....done that.

Yes, Jesus is Real!
