"Most important of all, continue to show deep love for each other, for love covers a multitude of sins."--1 Peter 4:8 When I was 10 years old riding my bike on a sidewalk in front of a neighbor’s house on a Sunday afternoon, I lost my balance and fell into the "Crown of Thorns" shrub which they had planted beside the sidewalk. My left hand was covered with thorns, blood streaming from every puncture wound. I remember my Daddy scooping me up in his strong arms and carrying me into the doctor\'s office on that Sunday afternoon, where the doctor met us, and carefully pulled out every thorn, applying a salve to heal every wound.
That was the same year I first came to the Cross of Jesus Christ and made my public profession of faith in the saving power of His blood. Morning after morning I come to His cross once again, and experience His blood dripping over the Crown of Thorns on His brow, onto my heart, covering my sin, as I wear His Robe of righteousness. Only the blood of Christ covering me enables me to love others as I am loved.
Only God’s Spirit can pour into my heart the love that covers a multitude of sins.
