Christ opens our eyes and makes visible to us the ugliness we have been surrounded by and partakers of. We realize the sin we were encompassed with and no longer wish to dwell with those who work iniquity. We seek Christ; follow Him; obey His commands and do away with worldly pleasures. Suddenly the world seems darker, smaller, and colder.
Christ Himself does not give us a cold shoulder, but mankind. There is joy to be found in John 15:18, where Jesus said, “If the world hates you, you know that it hated Me before it hated you.” There is nothing we suffer that Christ did not suffer before us, and He is encouraging us to remain strong for He knows the eternal reward that awaits us.
Have you noticed once you choose to follow Christ, the world seems a little colder? If you are a Christian striving to do what is right in the sight of God, continue on! There is a greater reward for you. John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”
Luke 9:25 ”For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and is himself destroyed or lost?”
Isaiah 13:11 “I will punish the world for its evil, And the wicked for their iniquity; I will halt the arrogance of the proud, And will lay low the haughtiness of the terrible.”
Keep spreading the gospel. Tell others about Jesus. The Lord will come again!
”Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.” -Matthew 11:28-29
