Prayer Changes Things

"If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land." 2 Chronicles 7:14

When we don’t know what else to do, we just have to pray.  It seems like there are so many devastating things happening all around us.  Whether global catastrophes or something closer to home; something is amiss.  Satan is busy attacking God’s children.

I can’t tell you how many people I know who are in financial trouble.  Some have lost jobs, cars, homes, and whatever little savings they had.  Many who earned six figures in the past now find themselves strapped for cash or out of cash all together.

Then I know many others who are in a fight for their lives; their health has deteriorated so rapidly.  Cancer seems to have taken a solid foothold.  And if it isn’t that then it is diabetes, high blood pressure, and arthritis that wreak havoc on individual’s health and well being.

In situations like these, we are hard pressed to find any words of comfort for those that are suffering.  We can only lend a listening ear and begin to go into earnest prayer.  We have to trust God to work it out on their behalf.

We have to remember that the thief comes to kill steal and destroy but praise God we have abundant life through Christ Jesus (John 10:10).   Let us put on our full armor and go into battle (Ephesians 6:11-13) for ourselves and those we love.  Armed with our weapons (prayer and God’s Word) we will defeat the devil and his schemes.  Let us pray!
