"Let There Be": Creating Your World

Many of us know the narration…..”In the beginning, God created the heaven and earth” (Gen. 1:1) through His Word, literally. Though the Spirit of God was present, the earth was astonishingly empty, desolate, and dark. Then God spoke everything into existence. That is how powerful HIS Word is. “Let there be…”….a DECLARATION used to create the world. The order of God is amazing!

After DECLARATION came MANIFESTATION…. “And God saw…” WE should eventually ‘see’ the demonstration of that which we have declared in its proper place and timing, according to God’s will….and after MANIFESTATION….came APPRECIATION… “It was good”…morally right, proper, satisfactory, virtuous….all degrees of appreciation.

Our declarations should have godly intent and concentration. We should be mindful of the words that are proceeding from our mouths. There is nothing worse than hollow words and declarations in prayer. We hear it so often, but sometimes a reminder is fitting....Our. Words. Bear. Power. In our mouth lies the power to bless or curse. In fact, "death and life are in the power of the tongue" (Prov. 18:21). IT IS OUR NATURE TO DECLARE. To make known. To state. To proclaim. By habit, almost involuntary, we declare things on a regular basis. We must condition ourselves so that our declarations line up with God’s Word. What does God say about it?

We often hear, and even say, negative expressions, such as, "you make me sick" or "I love you to death.” We must be careful what we declare because IT WILL likely manifest for us. Instead of "I love you to death”,....tell that person you "love them to life." Speak the word! Call those things that be not as though they were. Declare LIFE and BLESSINGS!

Let’s make a decision to align our words with Truth….the Truth of God’s Word. Let’s start with our thoughts….taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ (2 Corin. 10:5). Then our declarations will reflect the reasoning in our minds….for “as a man thinks in his heart, so is he” (Prov. 23:7). We have been given the authority to declare His Word and watch it manifest and reveal Itself. So, as some may say, it is our words, or His Word rather, that creates our world.

What ‘in the world’ are you creating?

About the Author: If you ask Janice what she likes to do most, outside of serving God, she will say, "spend time with my family." She is married to her high school honey, which is a story in itself, and they have three amazing children. As a matter of fact, most of her time is spent with her family.

Her love for God is expressed through sincere and pure worship and praise. She discovered her passion to "dance in the Spirit" in the early years of her walk with Christ. Long before that, she knew writing was her release. As a very young child, she would close herself up in her room and write songs and anything that came to her mind. Still today, through poetry, letters and random words, she often writes away her worries.

"Helps" is another of her gifts. She has been known to help others carry out their plans, even before her own.

And we definitely cannot forget about her zeal for prayer and the Word. Understanding both has increased her love for God and people over the years. She has a fervency to see others understand God's will. One of her greatest joys in serving people is knowing that she has been a part of drawing them closer to God's plan for their life. She wants people to leave her presence feeling increased, with an UPward focus, and provoked to do what God is requiring.

These are a few things that sum up who Janice is.
