Have you ever had the feeling that you are always at the receiving end of bad things? Ever been so frustrated that you simply wanted to scream, "Why ME?" Maybe the problem is not that things are going bad but that they just don't seem to be going right! You are not paranoid but sometimes you are quite sure that you can hear the devil speaking to you: "You are healed, are you? So, why are you still in so much pain? God should provide your needs but you can barely make ends meet! You, the head - of what? Don't you know that the head is above and not crawling all over the floor? Where you are is where the tail belongs - guess what you are!" Well, you should never forget what the bible says in the book of Romans 11:29
No matter what your situation may be, God will not change his Word concerning you. Whatever the promise of God to you is, be it healing or career, he will still fulfill it. The gifts and callings of God are truly irrevocable. There was a man called Abraham whom the world saw as childless but God called him a father of nations. There was a woman named Sarah who was called barren but the Lord called her fruitful - the mother of a son of promise. You've heard of the young shepherd boy who was only knowledgeable in sheep-rearing but God made him a leader of his people - his name was David. What about an unassuming young lady named Mary, who was a nobody until God made her a somebody when she became the mother of our Lord Jesus Christ? God's Word for them all came through!
It is therefore no surprise when Jesus called the sick - healed. A man, given up as dead, was described by Jesus as being 'asleep'. The very Word that the devil is trying to convince you has no power, 'woke' Lazarus up from his permanent sleeping state! The woman who believed she had nothing of value forgot that 'impossible' is not in God's dictionary; her only bottle of oil was more than enough to pay off her debts and sustain her family. The God of provision was not deterred by the terrible famine in Israel. He put Joseph over the warehouses of food in Egypt and placed him second in command to the king. The Lord thereby fulfilled his Word of promise to Joseph, making him a leader and simultaneously making provision for his entire family in a season of drought. Why all of the examples given above? They are to remind you that God is faithful. In 2 Thessalonians 3:3 (NIV), we read that
... the Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen you and protect you from the evil one.
He is very much aware of all you're going through. As much as your problems seem quite personal, they are not! You are under attack because the enemy is trying very hard to prove that the Word of God is not true! You should however not worry - greater is he that is in you than is in the world! In 1 Thessalonians 5:24 (Amplified Bible), we are reminded that:
Faithful is He Who is calling you [to Himself] and utterly trustworthy, and He will also do it [fulfill His call by hallowing and keeping you].
Keep things in perspective; he who is against you is against God and has Him to contend with! The battle at hand is not against you but against God. We already know, his Word to you cannot return to him void, without fulfilling it's purpose (Isaiah 55:11). You keep to the Word and let God keep to the battle.
Till next time, keep walking in Christ.
About the Author: I am married and have three children. I received Jesus as my Lord and saviour in 1995. I studied Biochemistry but I'm now into craftwork - paper crafts, jewellery making, mosaics, polymer clay and mixed media. Though I cannot sing, the Lord blesses me with songs. Surprisingly, with quite a limited knowledge of computing, I was impressed upon by the Lord to start a blog called 'Lahyorz in Christ'. It felt like jumping into deep waters! The blog articles are published on Wednesdays and the Lord has truly been faithful. You can find me on the web at http://lahyorzinchrist.blogspot.de
