I'm Unworthy, Lord

You know, you hear people say some of the craziest things when making excuses for not getting right with God. My favorite excuse is…”I’m not worthy. You just don’t know what I’ve done. I don’t deserve salvation.” Man, what a crock! None of us are worthy! Look at Saul of Tarsus! He’s the perfect example of not being worthy. Saul was responsible for the brutal murder of many men, women and children who were guilty of one thing; being Christian! Saul was a serial killer!!! He was ordered to target anyone who believed in the Christian faith!!! Yet, who did Jesus call upon to carry His message of Good News? SAUL! God took the worst of the worst and changed him from a mass murderer into a great man of God who is responsible for writing a majority of our New Testament! God changed Saul’s life so, that He even gave him a new name, Paul!

So, please tell me, are you guilty of murdering innocent children? Have you killed anyone simply because they believe that Jesus is the living Son of God? Well, seems to me, it doesn’t matter if you have or not, because no matter what you are or aren’t guilty of, you will NEVER be worthy of salvation, but the cool thing about salvation is this. Christ became the ultimate sacrifice so that whatever your past is, it doesn’t matter. Check this out!!!

Romans 5:6-11 says, “For when we were still without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. For scarcely for a righteous man will one die; yet perhaps for a good man someone would even dare to die. But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him. For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life. And not only that, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received the reconciliation.”

Romans 3:23 says, “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God”

None of us are worthy But God loved us enough to know and make for us a way to live through Him! “While we were still sinners, Christ died for us”! How awesome is that?!?!

So, you see? There is no excuse! The time is now! The day is today for salvation! Don’t waste any more time! Give your life to Him and LIVE!

Dewayne G. Guyton Imperfect glob of dirt, striving to be what God wants me to be, no matter man’s opinion.

I’m married to my best friend, the love of my life, Kellie Guyton. I have the most wonderful, beautiful son, Nathan. I firmly believe that you cannot measure a man by his circumstance, but only by how he handles that circumstance. When I die, I only want a few things said, “he was a good and righteous man who loved God, loved his family and was loved”. If I accomplish nothing more, then I’ve accomplished the world. I pastor in the United Methodist churches, however, I hate being labeled by denomination. If we are all children of God, then the sign over the door shouldn’t matter!
