I was reminded this morning, I am still in school...A teenager with a strong-will gives me the assignment... I don't know the "right" way to respond, the best way to instruct and discipline.

My heart is pricked and I realize that I do have a textbook, God's Holy Word, The Bible and The Best Teacher in all of creation. The Star Teacher, knows that I will be humbled in this task and is waiting to give me the right answers. I've just got to listen and bring my pencil and paper to class and take notes. It's not trial and error in this one. You only get "one shot" at it, the test is only administered once.

I don't want a X on my answer.

Thank you Lord, that You are the One at the blackboard and it is an open-Book test!

Proverbs 23:12 AMP

Apply your mind to instruction and correction and your ears to words of knowledge.

Lord, thank you for humbling me this morning, and reminding me that I need to study for the exam. The one you have entrusted us with is giving me the test. Lord, You have the answers and I want to get an A. Let me have the courage to share with our children that we will always be in the classroom getting instructions and taking notes. We will let them know that our teacher is, YOU.

About the Author: Karen Scarborough is originally from Louisiana, but her family followed the Lord's leading and relocated to a small town in Mississippi five years ago.  Karen is currently enjoying the responsibilities of full time wife and mother.  She accepted Christ at the early age of 9 and continues to desire His leadership in her life.  Her love for decorating, entertaining, but foremost, seeing others grow in the Lord has involved her in many different areas of the church as well as outside the church, which currently has led her to start an in-home ladies Bible study. Karen discovered the blogging world earlier this year, and started her personal blog, www.placesofmyheart.blogspot.com in July.  She realizes that her blog helps her focus and allows God to grow her personal walk through Jesus Christ.  She will quickly tell you, she is not a gifted writer, only tapping the keys with what HE wants her to share and is amazed at God's leading in this endeavor.  She has struggled with the direction (focus) of her blog, in the past three months, and has brought it back to His feet and HE has been faithful to show her what the "goal" is to be.  Php 3:14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
