Fulfillment

Are you like me? When I'm upset I frantically run around trying to find ways to add to my life. I sign up for things and immerse myself in activities. I find things that I think I want to do. I overload my calendar with lots of things to keep me occupied. It's easier to do that then to think about what's bothering me. In the end though all I get is stressed, frustrated and down right irritable. Are you with me? I'm sure I'm not the only one out there. Now let me tell you a little secret... God doesn't want this! He doesn't want us to live a life of anxiety. He doesn't want us to run around like a chicken with our heads cut off. His own Word tells us to "Be still..." (Ps. 46:10). Getting frustrated with the kids? Be still. Running errands for everyone on the planet? Be still. Trying to find another program to immerse yourself into? Be still. It's that simple. We just have to be still and revel in His presence. You know, because he's God.

Is the world getting to you? Do you feel overloaded? If that's the case, it's the perfect time to lean into God. Draw from His peaceful energy. God loves you. God wants you to be happy. So, here's my challenge... and it's for me too! When life comes along and you start to feel panicked, frustrated or any other negative emotion, sit back, relax and remember Psalm 46:10. Repeat to yourself... I will "be still". Stop looking to the world for fulfillment and start drinking it in from God. Bask in His glory and enjoy the peace that can only come from Him.

Heavenly Father, I come to you today with a thankful heart. You have provided me with Your Word and Your direction. When the world starts to overwhelm me all I have to do is be still and know that You are God. That you have my best interest in Your heart. I thank you Lord for loving me and for saving me with Your gracious love. In your heavenly name Amen.
