Friendship Cultivating

A Friend is a Friend In-deed! I believe that God does place special people in our lives for reasons and I believe that God sees something in our character that needs to be cutivated or removed and special people are put in place for that. My relationship with my best friend took on a new meaning to me after a disagreement that we had and did not speak to each other for a couple of weeks. During devotion I read Colossians 3:1-17, I was hit with the thought that this passage was for me at that moment and it was from God.

Colossians 3:13 Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also [do] ye.

This verse brought me to tears, unbeknown to me, my friend was reading the same passage. I am not sure who called who, but that night all was resolved and forgiveness took on a new meaning for me. Thank you for the lesson, Jesus. in forgiveness

True and lasting friendships cannot be found except on the foundation of a true and lasting friendship with God. True friendship is basis on the fact that we spend time getting to know each other, spending time doing things that each other is interested in. Friendship -- true friendship has to be based on sacrificial love, listening, helping and encouraging others.

Do you want to know how to be a true friend? -- look to Jesus!
