Radical changes require radical voices. A church body that has been in a traditional routine, will not change on its own, nor will it change quickly. #1 change requires change #2 a collection of ‘voices’ brings radical change
“Voices” refers to the individuals doing what God told them to do, in any part of society. Corporate change requires a collection of “voices.”
How does God fulfill His Purposes today? He does it through “voices.” He directs you to say a word. He directs you to sing. He directs you to do that which He told you to do. Every word from God is prophetic. It breaks the threshold of routine and tradition.
So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it. –Isaiah 55:11
When you release what God has spoken to you, you will always have results. God knows the need and He sends a Word to satisfy that need. Was Jesus ever denied when He released God’s Word?
How does God fulfill His Purpose, if only one “voice” responds? One “voice” is greater than a hundred “mute” voices. You will break the threshold regardless.
You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Matt. 5:14
A “voice” will be a light in the darkness. Even if you alone are doing God’s work, you will still have a great impact. When a lamp is lit in a dark room, it is seen by ALL! Complacent Christians and unbelievers, alike!
By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another. John 13:35
Loving people is a command and principle of the kingdom. It is God’s work to love people. So when you do God’s work, people will know and see something is different.
To further illustrate this point, look at Jesus. The one Man responsible for the redemption of the world.
One man. 2000 years later. 1/3 of the 7bil. Population acknowledge to be Christians
He proved God’s work through His “voice.” Now, someone may completely overlook this and say Jesus was God and so on. However, that being true, Jesus makes a statement that challenges every Christian to this day.
Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father. John 14:12
If we make the argument that Jesus was also God and thus the reason His one “voice” was such an impact, then what Jesus stated above is irrelevant to us. Because Jesus is saying, what I did, YOU WILL DO AND EVEN GREATER! Jesus is challenging us and saying, “No more excuses! I’ve given you My Word, now go and do something with it! Because My Word shall not return to Me void.” You cannot look past the responsibility God has place upon your life, as if you cannot do it, because you’re a nobody. But Jesus was speaking to you, 2000 years ago, breaking through the time zones to this very day. Because His Word lives forever, eternal and true.
My point in saying all this is that you need to move forward in what God has spoken to you and you can no longer ignore it. You have no one to blame and no excuse to make. You will answer to Jesus and no one else. Jesus will point to His Word and say to you, “I told you, you shall do greater works than I did.”
Children of God, let’s begin to enter our glorious inheritance and be done with this world.
Another point to be made here is the following. When Jesus said you shall do greater works than Me, He was pointing to His body. Jesus, on earth, was one Man. We as the body of Christ, and local church, are a corporate level. We can do greater works, because we are many in Christ. Yes, Jesus was God, but He was also a Man. He was unable to do everything. He established His body for this purpose, to full His purposes. Why didn’t Jesus stay on earth? Because He was one Man. Why did He send the Holy Spirit? Because the Holy Spirit was Jesus present in all believers. Some may find this very challenging to accept but let’s look further in scripture.
Nevertheless I tell you the truth. It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if depart, I will send Him to you. John 16:7
Jesus was, in fact, saying, “I must go so that the church can do its work, united in Me, through the Holy Spirit.” Jesus was in fact saying, “I alone am not able to do this without My body.” The purpose of Jesus dying for us, was redemption, and for a purpose. He gave His church, a purpose, to carry His name to all nations. And He needed to go to the Father to send the Holy Spirit forward for this purpose to be fulfilled. So, in fact, we see that we as a church are meant for greater works than Jesus.
It begins at the individual level first. Your one “voice” will be appealing and contagious to the rest of the church. You will change your fellow brothers and sisters in Christ. They, in turn, will unite with your one “voice,” becoming many “voices.” Now, radical change can come. (#2 a collection of ‘voices’ brings radical change).
Now I am challenging you. In your local body, ask yourself, do you want change. Do you want the healing and manifest presence of God to come. This requires a corporate level change. “Voices” are much louder than the whole body of “mute” voices.
In a corporation, the CEO and board of directors direct the whole company in a strategic vision. #1change only happens when they make that decision.
For a church to begin moving in a new direction, “voices” need to rise up. People of God doing His Will. People wait for revivals, but revival is simply God having His place in our local bodies. And this isn’t up to God, but up to us, as individual Christians and then as local bodies to respond to God.
Eternity is right around the corner. There is no more time to delay what God has spoken to you. Begin to move in what He speaks to you. I feared this change in my life as well. In my relationship with Jesus, I climbed heights I always feared, but as I climbed them, I became more comfortable with the One I was with. I still fear the heights, but I don’t fear the One I am with. His Name is love. He is the most wonderful person “in the world.” In my short journey with Jesus, I have learned to just do what He says to do and rest in His presence. The Spirit will bring you to a place of comfort and rest in Him, where the world does not phase you. God can and will place eternity in your heart, as you continue to get to know Him. Your perspective changes and you begin to move forward with great passion and zeal for the house of God. Don’t worry, this will not be your work, but the work of your Father, who is in heaven.
The words that I speak to you I do not speak on My own authority; but the Father who dwells in Medoes the works (John 14:10).
As I journeyed with God, I began to realize that fearing risk and fearing change, wasn’t even worth it. It is an illusion, a lie of the devil. Fear is a lie. You have nothing to fear. You will realize this. Continue in your walk with Jesus, obey and love Him. He will prioritize your value on people and Him. He will give you awareness of the truth. And the truth shall set you free (John 8:32). You will overcome.
